Found or Unclaimed Property

The mission of the Greenwood Village Police Department Property and Evidence Unit is to preserve and protect property and evidence by providing professional, proficient, and systematic storage and handling of each and every piece of property or evidence that is entrusted to our care.

Found Property

Found property will be held for 30 days from the date it was received. After 30 days the property will be disposed of or auctioned pursuant to Greenwood Village Ordinance.

Unclaimed Property

The Greenwood Village Police Department currently has the following types of property which will be disposed of by the City unless the owner thereof reclaims such property in the manner provided by law within thirty (30) days after the item is received into the Greenwood Village Police Department Property and Evidence Section. The following items are examples of items being held; bicycles, car keys, sporting goods, wallets, handbags, electronics, cameras, camera accessories, clothing, cellular phones, tools, office supplies, jewelry, firearm accessories, and documents.

Picking up Property From the Greenwood Village Police Department

In order to claim your property, you must call to make an appointment with the Property & Evidence Unit at 303-773-2525.  Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.  You must provide government-issued photo identification.
