Preventing Puffing

In cold winter months, starting your car in the morning and letting it heat up may seem like a good idea. However, Greenwood Village Police would like to remind the community that leaving your car unattended while it’s running is considered “puffing” and is a crime. While this policy is aimed at reducing harmful automotive emissions, it is important to keep in mind that puffing also makes your vehicle vulnerable to theft. Vehicles with a remote start are exempt from puffing policies.
