Outside Fitness Provider Guidelines
The Department of Parks, Trails and Recreation assures the provision of personal enjoyment and personal development through high-quality parks, trails, open spaces, recreation and arts programs, and community events for Greenwood Village. We recognize the role that outside fitness providers play in assisting our citizens in their journey for a healthy lifestyle and welcome the use of our parks and trails to conduct fitness instruction. To maintain a pleasant and safe park experience for all users, staff has developed the following guidelines.
Guidelines
- Maintain a national personal trainer or group fitness certification from a National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCAA) recognized organization. This would include but is not limited to the following organizations:
- American Council on Exercise (ACE), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
- Maintain liability insurance; requirements: General liability coverage of not less than $1,000,000 naming the City of Greenwood Village as an additional insured.
- Obtain a Greenwood Village Business License.
- Users with field permits will have priority for use of park space.
- Remove all trash from the exercise areas after each session.
- Remove all temporary supplies (cones, ropes, signs, and other training equipment) from the park site after each training session.
- Change the area of each exercise session to ensure grass areas are not overused.
- Any trail in Greenwood Village can be accessed by fitness providers; however, the trails are not exclusive to fitness providers.
- All uses are subject to the Greenwood Village noise ordinance - Chapter 7, Article 5 of the Greenwood Village municipal code. To avoid violating the noise ordinance, we suggest you avoid the areas of the parks adjacent to homes.
