2024 Citizens Academy graduates

Citizens' Academy Honors Graduates 

Congratulations to the 2024 Citizens’ Academy graduates! Sixteen citizens completed the 27th annual program in May, where they had the opportunity to learn more about Greenwood Village Police Department and their efforts to ensure the safety of the community. Citizens’ Academy will return in February 2025, with weekly sessions held Thursday evenings in February through May.

Mobile Concert Series

Thursdays at 6 p.m. in June - Multiple Park Locations
Grab your blanket, bring a picnic and enjoy live music with your neighbors. This series of four concerts will move to a different park every Thursday night in June. Plus, enjoy free ice cream! View the full concert lineup.

Village Greens North Phase V Grand Opening

Monday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m. - Village Greens North Park Pavilion
Celebrate the completion of the Village Greens North Master Plan, which was formalized in 2011 and jointly funded by Greenwood Village and the Arapahoe County Open Space funds. Phase V, the final project phase, includes adventure-based play opportunities for both kids and adults, with a non-traditional play area, swings, a slackline course and climbing structures that complement the natural theme of Village Greens North.

Ice Cream Social

Monday, July 8 from 2 to 3 p.m. - Silo Park
Enjoy a free ice cream in celebration of National Parks and Recreation Month.

Coffee with a Cop

Thursday, July 18 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. - Target, 6767 S. Clinton St.
Join Greenwood Village Police for coffee and conversation. No agenda or speeches, just a chance to engage in casual discussions, ask questions, and get to know the faces behind the badge.

Greenwood Village Day

Saturday, July 26 from 4 to 9:30 p.m. - Village Greens Park
Carnival rides, food trucks, live entertainment and a firework show make this family-friendly event the highlight of the summer! Tickets are available for resident registration beginning July 1.

National Night Out

Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 6-8 p.m. - The Preserve and Sundance Hills Pools
Meet Greenwood Village Police and our public safety partners on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Preserve and Sundance Hills neighborhood pools. Tour police vehicles, watch equipment demos, meet K-9s and dunk a cop in the dunk tank!

Art Programs

Art in the Park

Create unique hands-on art projects in Westlands Park! Each Art in the Park program introduces participants to a different art medium and technique that will be used in designing and constructing a unique and original work of art. Join us for one day or several to create art on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, June 4 through July 31, 10 a.m. to noon. Fee is $45 per program. Includes all supplies. Ages 6 to 12 years old. Instructed by Lauren Brant and Katie Trapp with special guests Arts on Fire, Createry Workshop, and Gallery on the Go. View schedule and register for classes.

Teen Summer Art Studio

Teen Summer Art Studio 

Instructed by professional artists who will introduce and teach teens how to use different art forms to create their own unique works of art, Teen Summer Art Studio will feature a different project each class that will include collage, painting, mixed media and more. Join us Mondays, 1 to 3 p.m. June 3 through July 29. Fee is $45 for each class with all supplies provided. Ages 11 to 16 years old. Instructed by Arts on Fire, Julia Rymer and Katie Trapp. View schedule and register for classes.

Summer Theatre Camps with Performing Arts Academy

New this year, Greenwood Village has partnered with the Performing Arts Academy to present two theater camps for grades 3-12: "Frozen Kids" July 22 through 26 for grades 3 through 6, and  "The Little Mermaid Junior" July 29 through August 2 for grades 7 through 12. Each camp will end on Friday with a performance. All camps take place at Aspen Academy. Register here.

Recreation Programs

Community Horticulture Classes: CSU Master Gardeners are hosting two hands-on workshops at Silo Park Gardens from 9 to 10 a.m. On June 29, learn tips on how to identify noxious weeds and best practices to remove them. On July 27, learn how native plants can be beneficial to your garden. No registration required.

Fun in the Sun: From June 11 through August 1, join us every Tuesday through Thursday in Silo Park for two sessions of outdoor fun with new themes every day for kids ages 6 to 10. Fee is $25 per session. Register here.

Adult Pickleball League and Beginner Lessons: Want to pick up pickleball or join a league? Register now for summer classes and leagues in Westlands Park.

Focus 50 (Senior Programs): Meet new people, engage in mild exercises, dance, and learn new culinary and cultural skills at these free senior programs every Monday at Curtis Center for the Arts. Drop-ins are welcome and attendees can come and go based on your schedule. View full schedule.
