Responsibilities

The Planning and Zoning Commission is a decision-making group of volunteer citizens appointed by City Council. The Commission reviews and advises the City Council on land use activities and the Comprehensive Plan for the physical development of the community. The Commission also reviews development proposals and sign programs. The Planning and Zoning Commission is made up of eight members each serving two-year terms. The Village is divided into four districts in which two members are appointed from each of the four districts. The Planning and Zoning Commission works to support community values regarding community appearance, protection of the natural environment, safety of the built environment, and the use of private property.
