Public Hearings

Public hearings are an announced formal meeting conducted by Greenwood Village officials where testimony is usually taken under oath, by affirmation or by subpoena, and to afford the public the fullest opportunity to express opinions on a project or item. An audio verbatim record and/or written transcript of the proceedings are made part of the Village's record. Public hearings are held for annexation considerations, liquor licenses, capital improvement projects and zoning matters of the Village.

Citizen participation is encouraged and welcomed at these hearings. Council and staff believe that the more involved citizens are in the early stages of program and legislation development, the better local government can meet the needs and expectations of our community.

Public notice is usually required and is given in the manner provided by the charter, statute, or ordinance pursuant to which the hearing is to be held. This means some hearings are published in the Village's designated newspaper The Villager.

In the event a public hearing is postponed or continued, notice may be given at the original hearing date announcing the new date and time, the new notice may be republished in The Villager, posted on the Village's website, or posted on the property. Individuals may subscribe to receive notice of the posting of the public hearings through the Village's Notify Me.

The applicant requests approval of a Site Development Plan to demolish the existing 3,783 sq. ft. McDonald’s restaurant located at 6686 S. Yosemite Court. A new 4,456 sq. ft. The property is located at the southwest corner of Arapahoe Road and Dayton Street. An SUP is required because the proposed use is designated as a Special Use in the Mixed Commercial (MC) zone district. The request is to retain a well house built without a permit that exceeds the maximum allowed height and square footage for accessory structures located in a front yard. The BOAA will also consider Case No. 18-40-VAR, for a request to construct a garage addition that encroaches into the side setback. The BOAA will also consider Case No. 18-42-VAR. The request is for a front covered entry, side covered patio, and rear deck replacement that encroach into the setbacks.

Urban Inc., the property owner and applicant, is proposing the construction of a 13,489 square-foot, two-story office building.
