The city is a beautiful city. It's an awesome place to work at. It's got this really wonderful mix between some parks and open space. We've got the Denver Tech Center, so a very big business district, as well as Fiddler's Green, a really awesome concert venue, a few different schools, lots of residential. And one of the things I like about the city is we'll talk to so many different residents that are here, many who have been here, you know, for many, many decades, and they're always just so kind and appreciative of the city, of the police department in general. We have a really positive relationship with our residents and our businesses for a police department. I've done ride-alongs with other police departments and I don't see that same relationship. Ours is very strong. Greenwood Village has great people. It is a great place to work. We have good culture. Everyone's very friendly and it's a fun place to work. You can trust every single person here. I could make a phone call and have someone pick me up at the airport with no notice. That's how close-knit we are. Opportunities is really what made me stay. The ability that Greenwood Village offers to grow and build myself as a police officer, as well as a friend, and even a father at home. Anybody could come in here as a police officer and, in time, they'll have an opportunity at Investigations, a School Resource Officer, with the Traffic Unit, with our K-9 Unit, the Records Department, with our Crisis Negotiation Team, with our Emergency Response Team, Police Dispatch, with our Drone Team. If you have a passion in this job, they will nurture that and make sure you get to the right classes that you need to do and the education you need to do to thrive in that field. The department's dedication for our training and for our enhancement is imperative with how quickly technology changes and what different options we have at our fingertips, every little bit helps. I feel like so many of the people that are here, and we've got a good variety of people with a lot of experience and people that are very new to the job, and the thing that they all have in common is they're just so dedicated to helping their community. They're just so eager to learn and just to provide the best service they can. I think anybody who's willing to put themselves out there and would just make some risks on taking a chance on themselves is really somebody that would belong because we have so many opportunities that really your own imagination is kind of what's going to hold you back to be successful here. I think you just need to come in and be open to your new teammates, your new colleagues, because everybody's very helpful and really wants success as a team. And you have to come in and not be isolated. You have to come in with a little bit of humility, too. The career is just something you're constantly learning. And at first, it can be very overwhelming because it's so much coming at you at once. Not being afraid to just keep on learning and then just relying on those around you. Individuals who are looking for a challenge. I ask every single trainee I train: did you come here to be average? And every single answer I get, you could imagine is, well, no, I want to be average. I'm like, good. I don't want you to be average. I want you to excel above average. I want to push yourself to excellence. If you work best by yourself, law enforcement is probably not for you. So, I would say that be ready to work with others, working with the community, working with the public and businesses and with your co-workers. We are big on camaraderie. Those are the people that we're looking for. And you'd find the best success having that mindset before you came into law enforcement.
