The City of Greenwood Village is collecting new socks to help Coloradans experiencing homelessness this winter, beginning Wednesday, November 1 through Wednesday, January 17 as part of the annual Socking it Together donation event in coordination with several south metro Denver cities. All sock donations will benefit the Sock It To ‘Em Sock Campaign, a Denver nonprofit serving local homeless shelters. Socks are one of the primary clothing needs of those experiencing homelessness, and having clean, dry socks helps prevent foot ailments that can lead to emergency room visits. Since 2012, Sock It To 'Em has given away over 1 million pairs of socks throughout the U.S. Last year, Greenwood Village collected nearly 4,500 pairs of new socks.
