Drug Take Back Day

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Turn in unneeded medication for safe disposal at Greenwood Village Police Department (GVPD) from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Please read event guidelines below and note that drug drop-offs will not be accepted at any other time.

- GVPD will accept all drugs except radioactive cancer drugs. These include over-the-counter drugs, prescription drugs, vitamins, powders, liquids, and gels. All of the above listed items are acceptable regardless of expiration date. There is no limit on quantity of drugs dropped off per individual.

- Drugs must be inside in a disposable bag to be accepted for drop off. All contents inside of and including the bag will be disposed.

- GVPD will accept sharps (including needles and injectors) but this is a courtesy and these items may not be accepted at other locations participating in Take Back Day.

- Labels do not need to be removed from prescription bottles. All drugs remain in police custody until placed in DEA custody, where they are incinerated.

Dogs are welcome and will be treated to milk bones!
