The FAA is preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) in accordance with FAA Order 1050.1F to document the potential environmental effects associated with the proposed optimization of aircraft routes and the supporting airspace management structure serving aircraft operating under instrument flight rules (IFR) while departing from or arriving to the Denver Metroplex area, which includes Centennial Airport. Greenwood Village is currently reviewing the Final Environmental Assessment to determine whether any route changes for aircraft flying into and out of Denver International Airport and Centennial Airport will result in a greater or fewer number of aircraft flying over Greenwood Village and at what altitude. Potential Metroplex impacts on Centennial Airport, the second busiest general aviation airport in the country with over 340,000 flight operations in 2018 is of particular concern to Greenwood Village residents. Comments must be provided by December 20, 2019 and can be mailed to: DEN Metroplex EA, Federal Aviation Administration, Western Service Center - Operations Support Group, 2200 S. 216th Street, Des Moines, WA 98198-6547 or you can submit your comments online.
