Greenwood Village Police Department invites the community to its biggest summer celebration, and this year we're taking it out to the community! National Night Out will take place Tuesday, Aug. 1 from 6-8 p.m. at two locations: The Preserve Swim & Tennis (5001 Preserve Parkway North) and Sundance Hills Swim & Tennis (5626 South Galena Street).
GVPD’s various divisions and specialized units will have booths where the community can watch demonstrations, talk to officers and professional staff one-on-one and collect their favorite Police Department swag. In addition to numerous giveaways, there will be activities for kids including yard games, bounce houses, and tons of other fun including a dunk tank (yes, you'll have the chance to dunk a cop)! Food trucks at both event sites will have food and beverage available for purchase.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to make a donation to Heroes with Paws, a non-profit organization that supports police K-9s and their handlers. The organization partners with Back the Blue K-9 Force to financially support the needs of police K-9s at various agencies throughout the state of Colorado.
National Night Out is a countrywide campaign that was created to help foster positive relationships between police departments and the residents they serve. The event is hosted annually on the first Tuesday in August.
