This class is designed for young artists interested in exploring the craft of musical theater and "Broadway" style performance. The class will focus on the “triple threat” of acting, singing and dancing. Class sessions will focus on the following skills: musical theater style solo and group singing, musical theater and jazz style dance, acting for the stage - dos and don'ts, stage performance 101, stage blocking, how to work as a group, how to take and implement direction / performance notes, working with microphones, stage lighting, costume changes and handling stage props. Students will gain empathy, confidence in speaking in front of a crowd and understanding the importance of taking direction. Students learn first-hand from our professional teaching staff, who bring decades of professional experience to their classes and curriculum. The session will end with a casual performance for family and friends to enjoy.
