Beginning Glass Sculpture

Saturday, September 26, 2020

This is a 3-hour workshop designed for students who want to learn the art of fused glass by creating a free-standing glass sculpture approximately 12” x 10.” Basic safety, glass cutting techniques, glass layering, and composition will be covered, including color theory, transparency, opacity, and design. A fundamental, hands-on working knowledge of the medium and equipment will be addressed. The glass will be fired off-site in a glass kiln and then returned to the Curtis Center for the Arts for students to pick up. Students will receive more information. Students will be provided specialized safety gloves and safety glasses for this workshop, but will be expected to wear closed toe shoes, and long pants. Instructed by Kay Gross
