Additional Benefits
Flexible Spending Account
A flexible spending account allows an employee to set aside a portion of his/her salary before taxes are withheld in order to be reimbursed for certain health care and/or dependent care expenses. It enables an employee to reduce taxable income, which increases take-home pay; and it allows for payment of health care and dependent care costs with pre-tax dollars. Maximum annual contribution for health care reimbursement and for dependent care is established annually by the IRS. Insurance premiums also are paid with pre-tax dollars rather than post-tax dollars.

If you participate in the health savings account, you will not be able to get reimbursement for medical expenses from our flexible spending account. However, you may participate in a limited purpose flexible spending account for limited purposes including dental and vision expenses.

Health Savings Account

A health savings account allows an employee to set aside a portion of his/her salary before taxes are withheld in order to be reimbursed for certain health care expenses. You are eligible to participate in the health savings account if you are enrolled in the Kaiser Permanente Preferred Provider Plan Option and are not enrolled / eligible for a non-qualified health plan.

Annual maximum contribution to the Health Savings Account is established annually by the IRS.
