Public Hearings
Participate in Public Hearings
Public hearings are an announced formal meeting conducted by Greenwood Village officials where testimony is usually taken under oath, by affirmation or by subpoena, and to afford the public the fullest opportunity to express opinions on a project or item. An audio verbatim record and/or written transcript of the proceedings are made part of the Village's record. Public hearings are held for annexation considerations, liquor licenses, capital improvement projects and zoning matters of the Village.

Citizen participation is encouraged and welcomed at these hearings. Council and staff believe that the more involved citizens are in the early stages of program and legislation development, the better local government can meet the needs and expectations of our community.

Public notice is usually required and is given in the manner provided by the charter, statute, or ordinance pursuant to which the hearing is to be held. This means some hearings are published in the Village's designated newspaper The Villager.

In the event a public hearing is postponed or continued, notice may be given at the original hearing date announcing the new date and time, the new notice may be republished in The Villager, posted on the Village's website, or posted on the property. Individuals may subscribe to receive notice of the posting of the public hearings through the Village's Notify Me.

July 19, 2016  Planning and Zoning Commission  A public hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Greenwood Village City Hall:
- Orchard Station Subarea Plan
This subarea is located north of Orchard Road and west of Interstate 25.  The plan establishes development policies for expected redevelopment opportunities in this area.  The policies are focused on the development of a vibrant, active downtown for Greenwood Village that includes a mix of office, residential, retail, and hospitality uses.
- Case No. 16-12-Rezone
Orchard Station Subarea Rezoning
This city-initiated rezoning application seeks to bring the entire Orchard Station Subarea into the same zone district.  This requires rezoning a number of properties from Business Professional (B-1) to Town Center (TC).  Town Center is the Village's mixed use district and therefore is the best fit to match the vision for the Orchard Station Subarea.  The rezoning is not a development proposal.  Future redevelopment of the subarea will require the approval of development plans.

The proposal includes applications for approval of preliminary and final plats, a subdivision improvement agreement, vacation of a small parcel of land and access easements dedicated to the City on a prior plat, and a landscaping plan for the project.  The property is located on the south side of Belleview Avenue across from the Glenmoor Country Club and is approximately 32 acres in size. The applicant is requesting to subdivide the property into 11 single family residential lots, each with a minimum of 2.5 acres.  Access to all lots will be off Belleview Avenue, with a proposed bridge crossing the Highline Canal.  No other access is proposed to serve the property.
